A coming of age story of a boy who takes a journey to confront his feelings about his father's suicide through the power of 80s rock music.

DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT

A boy named Anthony who loves 80s rock music and with his 80s rock themed band "Poison Crue", are set on creating their first ever concert. Anthony reveals internal struggles about his father (Andres) suicide. Anthony struggles to cope with what his father has done. Feeling betrayed by his father, Anthony is lost to find himself. The film explores internal issues that Anthony must change to overcome these feelings.

Mental illness has become one of the forefront issues we face today in our society. A point of view we have yet to see is of the people affected of a suicide. I hope to bring this coming of age story as a heartwarming story that presents humans with defections and complex lives. The themes of death and internal struggles is such a universal issue that anyone can relate to.

The film is a warm summer toned film. With the anamorphic look, the film will have that 80’s style cinematic film look that we all have learned to love. The music really defines the film and the connection it builds with Anthony and Andres. Including, Poison Crue, an 80’s rock style band. The soundtrack will also reinforce that theme and will be presented throughout the film. Bringing 80’s nostalgia to the mix from set dressing, some wardrobe and music. The film will have a nostalgic feeling that will connect to many generations.
